Recycle Crafts--Day 3: Shoe Box Crafts

When you buy a new pair of shoes, what happens to the shoe box? Do you throw it away? Recycle it? Our class took shoe boxes and created new crafts with them.

Although it takes significantly less time for cardboard to decompose, only 2 months, (http://behealthyandrelax.com/2007/11/how-long-does-it-take-to-decompose/), you can recycle shoe boxes into new ideas and crafts. We made guitars and picture frames!

To make a guitar:
1. Cut the lid of the guitar into a circle.
2.  Add rubber bands around the box.
3. Cut a hole in one end of the box.
4. Add a paper towel roll.
5. Tape together.
6. Strum and Enjoy!

To make a picture frame:
1. Cut off the bottom portion of the shoe box.
2. Outline the size picture you want to add.
3. Color, decorate the edges of your picture frame.
4. Add picture!
