Veterans Day

Veterans Day is one of the greatest American holiday.s It's a time to be grateful and humbled by the sacrifices made by our men and women in the armed services.
Our class wanted to honor the veterans in our lives. We created a wall of veterans filled with essays, drawings, and pictures. Here we showcased how much our veterans mean to us and how honored we are to live in the United States of America.

essays:
Why are Veterans Important?
By: Isaac
Veterans are important because they risked their lives for us. That takes a lot of courage to leave your families and go serve. I don't think I would have that courage, but a lot of you did. That would be too much for a lot of people to do. I feel that they are heroes because they risked their lives.

Why are Veterans Important to Us?
By: Natane
The Veterans kept us safe. They serviced our country. Veterans meet different people from different states. They help our country to be free and have pride. They try to fight for our country.
The second reason, veterans are important is because they're true heroes. They save are lives. sad for the people that died. Veterans risk there lives for us. I feel very happy veterans risk there lives for us.

Why are Veterans Important?
By: Angel
Veterans are so important because they served are country as long as they survive. They fought in many wars like World War I. Veterans keep us safe every time they fight in wars. Veterans are true heroes. Veterans work hard every day to keep us safe. Every time they go into war, they work hard for us. Veterans are everybody's heroes. They sacrifice a lot of dangerous thinks in wars. Veterans are my heroes.

Why Veterans Are Important
By: Misty
Veterans are important because they served our country for years. They have fought in wars like Vietnam, World War II, Korean, and are serving now.
They help our country to be free and have pride. Veterans are brave defenders. They fight and sacrifice their lives for us to keep us safe. Without veterans, our country will face enemies that want to take over our country. The second reasons, veterans are important is because they're true heroes. They never give up. They try to fight for our country.
Veterans are everyday people. Theya re family members that try to stay connected to their families but sometimes they can't when they are stationed far away. Veterans can be your teacher, your mailman, friends, and family members.
Veterans are great people that have courage for themselves and the country.

Why are Veterans Important
By: Thomas

First, Veterans are important. Because they served are country for many years. They keep us safe. If we did not have veterans we would not win against the other people.
The second thing is when people miss there familys. It is hard when you fight, you think of your family when you fight.
The last thing is I feel happy we have veterans because my great grandpa was in the Army. I think having a grandpa that was a code talker. I am thankful for veterans.

By: Mikaylah
I think veterans are important because they left their families so they can save us and risked their life for us and left there families for us and that is why we have a free country. And it is hard to think about if you had a veterans and you think about how you want them to come home. Or how you love them. And in some of are wars we have to us Navajo code talkers because they just listen and before we can be it we are already gone so we give them thanks to are Navajo code talkers. It really helped us a bunch. You should care about are Veterans. They mean so much to me. Every night before I go to bed, I pray for are veterans. I feel that veterans should mean a lot. We owe are country and are veterans. After how much they went through a lot. I am grateful.

Why are veterans important
By: Christian
Veterans are so important because they fought to let us have freedom they sacrifice themselves will be still in service. We are still fighting in Syria. I feel so happy and I feel so bad. I'm happy that I'm still here and alive. They fought for courage, honor, and sacrifice. I'm thankful for our veterans because they did it for our freedom.

Why are Veterans Important?
By: Hallie

Veterans are important because they served our country. They fought in war like World War II and Vietnam.
Veterans can be our parents, teachers, friends, and family members.
Veterans are great heroes. Veterans have courage. They never give up.
They keep us safe. I am thankful for all what they did for our state.

Veterans are Important

By: Cory

Veterans are important because they were sacrificing their lives for us. The first reason veterans are important to us is because they give us freedom. Freedom is when there is no war going on. Veterans give us freedom by fighting in wars and defeating our enemies.

The second reason veterans are important is because they are brave. Bravery is fighting even when they are afraid. Their bravery helps us by fighting for our lives. I am excited that veterans are brave, because they will keep us safe.

The third reason veterans are important is because they mean so much to us. Americans love veterans because they are brave veterans that are fighting in the war right now.

I am proud that our veterans gave us freedom.

Fun & Fitness--Healthy Hulet

We are doing all we can at Hulet to promote a healthy lifestyle. What can you do at home to help? Do you exercise? Eat nutritious food? Do you live a healthy lifestyle?

At school we try to provide nutritious meals for lunch. We also allow for over 1 hr per day of recess!! Students at Hulet have P.E. two times a week to keep them physically fit. In October each grade level received Healthy Lifestyle lessons from Navajo County. This past Friday Hulet held its Fuel Up to Play 60 Fitness Day. It was a HUGE success! Students were give an hour to play obstacles courses, tether ball, Frisbee, soccer, jump rope... and the list goes on and on.

Find one hour during the weekend and spend some time being active. Try taking a walk, playing at the local park, kicking a soccer ball around, biking a new path. These are just a few ideas! What are some other ways to live a healthy lifestyle?

IXL

Every child has the opportunity to log into IXL every week at home. All you need to do is log in to www.ixl.com and put in your user name and password. IXL is a great program that encourages students to practice their math skills. With this great use of technology, your child can practice their skills all the time! This fall break encourage your child to use IXL as a way to improve their math skills. Starting after fall break we will be focusing on fractions, decimals, and percents--all of which are featured on the IXL website!

I want to give a special shout out to Hannah! She has practiced a total of 10 hours and 20 minutes (most of that at home)!!

The total for the class is 17 hours, which means Hannah has practiced more on her own than all other 20 students COMBINED!!!

Way to go Hannah!! I am so proud of your hard work!!!

Sequence Comic Strips

Sequencing a story is pretty easy to do:
First you get out of bed.
Next you brush teeth/take a shower.
Then you get dressed and eat breakfast.
Finally you arrive at school.

Sequencing a process can be a little more difficult....

Students were asked to create a comic strip story about the parts of the water cycle. While the water cycle is relatively boring, students made it interesting by connecting it to a story element.

Take a look at these wonderful examples.
