Lowell Observatory Field Trip

Wow! What an amazing field trip! It's been 5 days and still the topic of many conversations! If you've never been to Lowell Observatory, then you are missing out! They have many amazing tours and exhibits.
This year is The Year of Pluto at the Observatory. Did you know Pluto was discovered right here in Flagstaff? Amazing! Did you know that this year Pluto will make its orbit closest to Earth!? Here Travis is telling us about Percival Lowell, the man who discovered Pluto.

We've arrived at Pluto!

To discover Pluto, Lowell used film and overexposed it for 10 months.

Once he studied the film, he noticed that something began to move. It was the planet Pluto!

February Students of the Month

It's fabulous February!!! We are celebrating this month appropriately with two fabulous 5th graders, Codie and Trenton.
Codie and Trenton are amazing artists, avid football fans, and love math! They have already put together an amazing plan for our Valentine's Day party! Can't wait to see other unique and exciting plans that these two Fabulous February fifth graders have in store for us!
