Pony Express

Exciting times in Holbrook! The Pony Express riders have picked up our mail and will begin transport to Scottsdale. Riding horses for a few miles each day, the Pony Express riders will be reenacting the Old West ways of delivering mail. We have decided to send our letters to our relatives as far away from Holbrook as possible. Take at look at where our mail is headed!
Various parts of Arizona, Georgia, Hawaii, Brasil, Korea, Canada, Texas, Alabama, Oregon, and Colorado!

In addition, we also had a visit by the Pony Express Riders and they reenacted how mail is transferred at each station.

Weather Reports

Have you ever wondered what it takes to be a weather reporter? Not only do reporters need to know about the topic at hand, but they must also be willing to brave the elements. Our weather reporters did not have to face the elements, but they did have to face their nerves! Take a look at our reports to learn more about different weather activities!

Homework Alerts!

We just jumped right back into the learning! Things have been super busy in Room 20! You may notice an increase in homework over the next few days. Short weeks always leave us in a bit of a time crunch. Only 4 days of teaching time, but 5 days of work!!! Here are a few of the assignments that will be coming home.
  • Point of View Worksheets. These point of view worksheets give a short paragraph and ask students to identify whether the main character is writing this in 1st person, 2nd person, 3rd person limited, 3rd person objective, or 3rd person omniscient.
  • Math. Angles, Polygons, and other 2D Shapes.
  • Descriptive Essays. Again, a 4 day week brings havoc to our writing schedule! Final drafts are due on Friday!
  • Pony Express Address!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Of important note, we still have students that have not turned in homework since BEFORE Christmas break. It is imperative that I get this work in as it appears on 3rd quarter grades. Please check your child's agenda/homework paper.

Please contact me with questions about homework!

Christmas Party!!!

One of my favorite parts about Christmas is giving presents! I love finding that perfect gift for my family and friends. It makes me happy to shop for them and think about the kind of present they might enjoy receiving! Sometimes I make presents for people too! (I think the best presents come from the heart!)

That's why I was SOOOO happy with our gift giving this year. Not only did the students do an excellent job of being gracious recipients, but they were excellent gift givers!! Since it was Secret Santa, most students didn't know their who their Santa was until Christmas Party Day!

Take a look at our pictures below.
