IXL

Every child has the opportunity to log into IXL every week at home. All you need to do is log in to www.ixl.com and put in your user name and password. IXL is a great program that encourages students to practice their math skills. With this great use of technology, your child can practice their skills all the time! This fall break encourage your child to use IXL as a way to improve their math skills. Starting after fall break we will be focusing on fractions, decimals, and percents--all of which are featured on the IXL website!

I want to give a special shout out to Hannah! She has practiced a total of 10 hours and 20 minutes (most of that at home)!!

The total for the class is 17 hours, which means Hannah has practiced more on her own than all other 20 students COMBINED!!!

Way to go Hannah!! I am so proud of your hard work!!!

Sequence Comic Strips

Sequencing a story is pretty easy to do:
First you get out of bed.
Next you brush teeth/take a shower.
Then you get dressed and eat breakfast.
Finally you arrive at school.

Sequencing a process can be a little more difficult....

Students were asked to create a comic strip story about the parts of the water cycle. While the water cycle is relatively boring, students made it interesting by connecting it to a story element.

Take a look at these wonderful examples.
