Muscles

Did you know there are over 600 muscles in the human body? We use the muscles every day for every action we perform. Even when we are sleeping our cardiac muscle keeps the heart pumping. Our skeletal muscles we use to sit, stand, walk, run, and many other activities. Our smooth muscles are used when we digest our food. Smooth muscles can also force food down to our intestines or up when we are feeling sick.

In class we demonstrated the strength of our muscles by performing a series of pushups. In 3 minutes, the students were able to complete an average of 55 pushups. In 1 minute, the class average was 45. Not bad!

Take a look at some pictures of our class doing push-ups!
