Dr. Seuss Celebration

March 2nd is officially known as Dr. Seuss Day! If you've been hiding under a rock, you might NOT know who he is. Dr. Seuss is an imaginative storyteller who uses made-up words and crazy characters to teach lessons to us through stories.
Some of my personal favorite Dr. Seuss books are: "Oh! The Places You'll Go" which not only tells of how to use your imagination, but also about what lies ahead in your life if only you believe in yourself.

"There's a Wocket in My Pocket" is silly and imaginative. We've all wondered if there really were monsters in the closet, under the bed, and in the cellar. If you ask Dr. Seuss he'll tell you that there's a woset in your closet and a gellar in the cellar. To me this story embodies all the fun you can have with imagination.

"How the Grinch Stole Christmas" Let me just ask. Who DOESN'T love this book? Such a classic that is good all year long, not just at Christmas. The Grinch of course learns the most valuable lesson of all and that is that celebrating comes from being together with the people you love, not presents.

"Thidwick the Big-Hearted Moose" In this story Dr. Seuss introduces us to a moose who accepts everyone and everything no matter their shape or size. It's a great example of how we should respect one another and always be able to make new friends.

Here are some pictures from our Dr. Seuss celebration and hats! We had such a great time celebrating Dr. Seuss on March 2nd. But Dr. Seuss can be celebrated at any time! Even adults love Dr. Seuss. So climb up together and read!!
